Early morning shooting leaves one dead in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – A shooting left one person dead early Friday morning in Spartanburg.

The shooting happened around 4:40 a.m. at a home on Bethel Street.

According to the Spartanburg Police Department, officers arrived to find trail of blood leading to a juvenile with a gunshot wound on the second floor of the home.

The victim was taken to Spartanburg Medical Center where he died.

Witnesses told investigators that they heard multiple gunshots and saw two people running away from the scene toward Promised Land Drive and Kensington Drive.

Spartanburg Police said they are working to identify the suspects in the shooting.
