DALLAS (KDAF) — A Texas born singer with rodeo roots, Gunnar Latham brings his signature honkytonk fire to every single song.
Growing up in San Marcos, Latham spent his time between church pews and rodeo arenas, which help shape the music he creates — including his newest song, “Cowboy Every Time.”
“The inspiration behind ‘Cowboy Every Time’ was really just about the cowgirl in the song,” Latham said. “She makes a choice to do cowboy things, right? Instead of driving a Cadillac, she’s going to drive a truck…She makes the choice to pick the cowboy way of life every time.”
His music represents the western way of life, which resonates with a lot of people. From farming and ranching to rodeo sports and even Woody from Toy Story, the western lifestyle is prevalent in US culture and society.
“I just grew up that way, I don’t really know any different,” Latham said.
