DANGEROUS HEAT
We have officially started our warming trend that will result in extremely warm summer temps across central North Carolina. Today’s highs were in the low 90s, but that is just the start.
Afternoon temperatures will soar to the mid-90s Sunday, and then triple digits Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Feels like temperatures all of next week will top out between 102° and 110°. There will be very little overnight relief, which will only exacerbate the heat threat. Air conditioners and pools will certainly be working in overdrive next week.
There could be a little bit of relief by next Thursday and Friday, but there’s not a temperature cooler than the mid-90s on the forecast through next weekend.
