LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Laurens County Coroner’s Office has identified the two victims killed in a boating incident on Lake Greenwood over the holiday weekend.
Thomas Chandler Davis and Abby Katherine Davis have been identified as the two individuals who were pronounced dead in a boat crash on Sunday, July 6.
The SC Department of Natural Resources responded to the collision, where officials learned that an Alumacraft boat carrying five individuals was hit from behind by a Yamaha boat with two individuals onboard.
Thomas and Abby Davis were both on the Alumacraft vessel. Two others were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
The operator of the Yamaha was arrested and charged with two counts of felony boating under the influence.
The suspect’s identity has not been released at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by the SCDNR.
