RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for two counties in central North Carolina on Wednesday.
Around 1:47 p.m., a thunderstorm was located near Garner, moving at around five miles per hour.
Because of this, the NWS has issued a warning for Wake and Johnston counties. This warning is expected to last until 2:45 p.m.
Wind gusts of 60 miles per hour are expected, along with possible lightning and damage to homes and trees.
The NWS advises that people move indoors immediately and stay away from windows.
