HAMILTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (PIX11) – Commuters are seeing delays on some subway lines Monday morning after a man was stabbed on a Manhattan train, according to the NYPD.

Police said it happened near the 145th Street station in Hamilton Heights around 6 a.m. A 56-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the head, according to authorities.

Police said he was taken to a local hospital. A person of interest is in custody, according to authorities.

Downtown No. 1 trains are skipping the 145th Street station as the NYPD investigates, the MTA wrote on its website. The stabbing caused trains to be delayed in both directions.

The MTA said to take an uptown train if your stop is skipped. Nos. 2 and 3 trains are making stops between Chambers Street and 96th Street.
