Australian scientists have started analysing the first batch of samples from the Million Year Ice Core project. The extracted Antarctic ice contains tiny bubbles of trapped air dated back almost 4,000 years.
Researchers are aiming to uncover new details about the Earth’s atmospheric history by studying the ice, to improve our understanding of future climate changes.
