A US and Israel-backed aid organisation confirmed that 20 Palestinians were killed at its site in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) reported that 19 people were trampled and one was stabbed in a crowd surge.
GHF said that "agitators" in the crowd caused the problems and that these people were likely connected to Hamas.
