A childcare worker has been charged with 70 offences, including sexual assault and producing child abuse material, relating to allegations involving eight alleged victims at a Point Cook centre.
Joshua Brown, 26, of Point Cook worked at 20 centres between 2017 and May 2025, and police are investigating a further allegation relating to an Essendon centre.
Chief Health Officer Christian McGrath said about 1,200 children have been recommended to undergo infectious disease testing.
