EU leaders meet as Orbán holds up €90B for Ukraine | Ukraine Brief

European leaders are convening in Brussels for a high-stakes summit focused on a €90-billion EU loan package for Ukraine, which still faces a veto from Viktor Orbán.

Orbán insists that oil flows through the Druzhba pipeline must resume before Hungary will approve the funding, while Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged EU leaders to adopt the package, stressing Ukraine’s future lies within Europe.

Meanwhile, Russian attacks across Ukraine have continued, with strikes killing at least seven civilians and injuring dozens, including drone attacks on residential areas in Odesa and damage to infrastructure in multiple regions.

Ukraine has also carried out retaliatory operations, with its navy targeting Russian military assets in occupied Crimea, including air defense systems near Sevastopol.

At the same time, Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi warns of further Russian mobilisation, and Ukrainian-founded defense startup Swarmer completed its initial public offering on the NASDAQ Capital Market yesterday.
