Following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, members of the Basij affiliated with the IRGC, which played a special role in the repression, are fleeing the bases where they serve and changing homes.

According to reports, they are moving to other cities in women’s clothing and veils, fearing public anger and attacks. These cases have reportedly increased in the past two days, after the US and Israeli air forces bombed Basij bases in Tehran.
It should be noted that during the 1979 revolution, officials of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi’s Special Service Organization hid in women’s clothing and tried to escape cities and the country. Recall, Basij militia forces have launched widespread patrol operations across the streets of Tehran, the Iranian capital. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the information was released by the Fars news agency.
According to official reports, the militia forces have commenced activities in all 22 districts of Tehran. This mobilization coincides with recent military and political developments in the region, with authorities stating that the patrols are intended to maintain security and order at all strategic points throughout the capital.
The Basij, a paramilitary volunteer militia established in 1979, operates under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The organization plays a significant role in Iran’s internal security apparatus and is frequently deployed during periods of heightened domestic or regional instability. The current deployment comes at a time of increased geopolitical friction involving various regional actors and international powers, including the United States and Israel. Recently, two senior members of the Iranian student organization Basij have been killed in recent precision Israeli strikes on Tehran, targeting Tehran University and Amirkabir University of Technology, Amir Kabir Newsletter reports.
Israeli military confirmed that it conducted extensive airstrikes targeting Iran’s internal security apparatus and Basij paramilitary forces in the capital Tehran. Warplanes dropped dozens of munitions on command centers used by these forces, according to an official military statement, marking another significant escalation in the ongoing campaign against the Islamic Republic.
The strikes appear designed to degrade Tehran’s ability to manage internal security amid the broader conflict.
