With Trump’s administration insisting the U.S. needs Greenland for national security reasons and European nations expressing outrage at the idea, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization may be about to experience unprecedented tensions in its own midst.
As U.S. President Donald Trump continues to threaten the annexation of Greenland, U.S. General Ben Hodges says Trump is endangering the transatlantic alliance. Hodges added that any order to send the U.S. military into Greenland to annex it would be illegal.
