Iran carried out overnight missile and drone strikes on petrochemical facilities in Saudi Arabia, targeting the cities of Al Jubail and Jeddah. The information was reported by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency. According to the report, the SABIC complex in Al Jubail sustained the heaviest damage. The strike caused a powerful explosion and large fire at the facility. This incident could represent one of the most significant blows to the country’s oil industry in its history, as SABIC is considered one of the largest petrochemical complexes in the world.
Following the military operation launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, Iran has in turn targeted military and civilian infrastructure, particularly oil facilities, in neighboring countries including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Iraq.
