Soldiers from the Lasar’s Group special unit of the Ukrainian National Guard struck a Russian S-300V air defense system launcher in the Belgorod region.
This was reported by the unit’s press service, which also posted a video of the combat operation on social media.
The strike against the aggressor country’s air defense system was carried out in mid-April using a bomber drone, which dropped munitions on the target.
According to the defenders, the strike hit a 9A82 launcher equipped with two anti-aircraft guided missiles capable of intercepting not only aircraft but also ballistic missiles.
Initially, aerial reconnaissance identified the approximate deployment area of this launcher. Next, the crew of an aircraft-type drone determined the exact coordinates of the target on enemy territory.
After that, a drone bomber was sent to the area where the equipment was located.
This component of the S-300V system was protecting Russian military equipment and infantry in the Belgorod region from Ukrainian strikes.
Lasar’s Group emphasized that the aggressor country’s air defense systems remain one of their top priorities, and the unit’s fighters continue to systematically destroy them.
In particular, in March, Lasar’s Group fighters, together with other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, struck a launch unit of the Russian S-400 Triumph air defense system, also in the Belgorod region.
A drone bomber was also used in the strike, which resulted in the equipment being put out of commission.
In addition, soldiers from the same National Guard special unit destroyed a Russian 1K148 Yastreb-AV radar reconnaissance station in the Luhansk region deep behind enemy lines.
