A major fire has broken out at a port in northern Myanmar. The blaze began on Monday evening when an oil tanker caught fire, leading to a powerful explosion, according to local reports, citing officials. Authorities said the blaze broke out in the early evening hours in Homalin, located in the Sagaing region. At least two people were killed and 11 others injured following a powerful explosion and large-scale fire. Footage shared online captured a massive plume of thick, black smoke billowing high into the sky. The fire rapidly spread beyond the tanker, engulfing nearby vessels, many of which were carrying barrels of fuel, as well as vehicles stationed in the port area. Emergency services have responded to the scene, but the intensity of the fire made containment difficult in the early stages.
