Missiles fly as Russia-Ukraine talks resume in Geneva | Ukraine Brief

Ukraine and Russia resumed U.S.-brokered trilateral talks in Geneva on Tuesday, with discussions expected to continue on the next day. President Zelenskyy said Ukraine has accepted what he called “realistic U.S. proposals” for an unconditional, long-term ceasefire, while Russia continues its attacks, and little diplomatic progress is reported so far.

Demonstrations in support of Ukraine took place outside the UN headquarters in Geneva as negotiations were in progress. Meanwhile, Russian strikes across Ukraine killed at least four people, injured 14, and damaged civilian and energy infrastructure, prompting temporary airport closures in Lublin and Rzeszów. Ukraine also reported hitting nine Russian oil refineries this year, including a major overnight strike on the Ilskyi refinery in Krasnodar, one of southern Russia’s largest and strategically most important facilities, which caught fire and suffered significant damage.
