In the Kupyansk direction, a special forces soldier from the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) independently held off an assault by a group of occupiers who used toxic substances against him.
As reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate, during military operations in the Kupyansk direction, a fighter from the "Brotherhood" unit was able to hold back an assault by the enemy, which outnumbered him five times.
In response to the resistance of the Ukrainian defender, the occupiers resorted to prohibited methods of warfare – they used poison gas against him. After that, the position was covered with dense mortar fire and attacked with FPV drones.
As a result, the soldier received multiple shrapnel wounds and poisoning with an unknown substance, which caused him to lose consciousness. The HUR added that further holding of the position in such conditions became impossible, so the command decided to evacuate the soldier.
"Despite the active work of enemy FPV drones, the evacuation group was able to break through to the wounded man, remove him from under fire and deliver him to a stabilization point. Thanks to the coordinated actions and high professionalism of the special forces, it was possible not only to hold the position, but also to push back the enemy," the HUR noted. Recall, earlier, fighters of the 1st Battalion of the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine left the "pocket" north of Rivnepil in Donetsk Oblast . According to DeepState, the fighters were surrounded on three sides, but showed fortitude and held out much longer than required. All the soldiers who were in position were able to leave unharmed, with only one lightly wounded.
Last year, in the Kursk region of Russia, a group of fighters from the 36th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mikhail Belinsky was surrounded and called in artillery fire on themselves in order not to surrender and to destroy as many occupiers as possible. However, after the artillery strike, they managed to survive, but the Russians who surrounded them did not. All the Ukrainians, including the wounded, escaped from the encirclement.
