Pechersk Brigade of Ukraine’s National Guard Destroys Russian TOS-1A Heavy Flamethrower System

A strike UAV unit from the 27th Separate Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine has destroyed a Russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system.

The OperatyvnoZSU Telegram channel published a video showing the moment of impact.

The Russian system was detected while in motion, which made the strike more difficult.

However, thanks to the skill of the drone operator, the target was hit precisely with an aerial munition.

After the strike, the vehicle caught fire and began to slow down. Once it stopped, the Solntsepyok crew abandoned the vehicle. The drone operator then carried out an additional strike on the launcher, causing it to burn completely.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian military has lost more than 33 Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower systems, four of them in 2025 alone.

Due to their limited numbers, these systems are not widely used; however, they pose a significant threat, making their destruction a priority for Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

In August 2025, operators from the 427th Rarog Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems also destroyed a Russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system.
