Robbers broke into a bank in Naples on Thursday, holding 25 people hostage before escaping through the sewers, having drilled a hole in the floor during the night, according to the Italian news agency LaPresse.
According to Associated Press some of the freed hostages told police officers that the robbers had their faces covered with masks depicting the faces of film actors. Firefighters managed to force open a door of the car, which is believed to have been used by the robbers and was parked outside the bank. Forensic officers carried out an examination of the car and a special force stormed the bank, but were unable to find the robbers, who had already fled through a hole made in a wall or on the floor.
