In modern Russia, factors that arose before the collapse of the Soviet Union can be traced, Valeriy Chaly, Ukrainian politician and diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States of America, said in an interview with Channel 24 . Answering a question about Russia’s military resources, he noted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin fears that Ukraine will begin to restore its territorial integrity one way or another. Then he will constantly need to maintain control of the situation. At the same time, Chaly says, this will be the root cause of the collapse of the Russian Federation. "Russia won’t survive 10 years in this state. That’s 100 percent certain," Chaly said. According to him, this will be influenced by various factors: ineffective management, economic collapse, lack of development, and technological backwardness. In other words, "everything that arose in the Soviet Union before its collapse." "They’re essentially relying on the fact that Tsar Putin now has an unspoken agreement with his subjects… They genuinely want to end the war. They don’t understand what Putin is doing. And while this continues, the war is still going on," the diplomat said, adding that Russia fears disintegration. Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin cannot end the war against Ukraine now, particularly through political means, because he understands he will be tried for his crimes, including by the next Russian leader. However, a hole is already being dug around Putin’s "throne." Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the 429th Achilles Unmanned Systems Brigade, stated this on the "Fabrika Novostey" program. According to him, the absurdity of the situation lies in the fact that Moscow is asking US President Donald Trump for permission to hold a Victory Day parade while simultaneously asking Ukraine for peace. Even though, in fact, Russia is the sole source of aggression and war. "Because it is Russia that is leading the offensive against Ukraine… The war could end in a single day – Putin takes all his henchmen and leaves our land. And the fighting would immediately cease. Ukraine would restore the status quo, the state border line, and we would continue to build our state. We must develop the Defense Forces and do everything possible to ensure that war does not happen again in the future," Fedorenko emphasized. He noted that it’s important to understand one important thing: a military vehicle is like a huge tanker that needs to stop. So, the ship’s captain gives the command to stop the tanker, and certain actions are taken, but for a while, the tanker continues to move along its current route. In other words, a braking distance is needed, the military officer added. He noted that military operations can be compared to precisely this process, and the only option for a comprehensive ceasefire is when Russia actually halts its soldiers, rather than seeking to close the distance to the Defense Forces, regrouping troops, stockpiling weapons in appropriate areas, etc. After all, then the Ukrainian Armed Forces must do everything necessary, everything possible, to protect, first and foremost, their soldiers located on the line of contact. At the same time, according to Fedorenko, there is currently no political will for a ceasefire in Russia, nor is there public demand for one. He believes Putin is currently incapable of ending the war. Because he cannot now act as the first president of Russia, Boris Yeltsin, once did, who said something like this: “The goals of the military operation have been partially achieved, I have done everything I could for the Russian Federation, and I believe that there must be a new leader who will continue the work.” "Well, sort of, to get out of the lousy situation Putin created with a trump card… What will happen in such a situation? Whoever comes next will judge him, punish him, and possibly hang him from a pole. Putin understands this very well; he knows history. That is, his time on the ‘throne’… is determined by the timing of the introduction of active military action against Ukraine. As soon as the war ends… Putin will be finished," the military man believes. Therefore, he added, the Kremlin dictator will try everything possible to continue military operations. At the same time, Fedorenko believes that there is already some resistance to Putin within Russia. "From the latest news, we can see that they’ve already picked up shovels and begun undermining the throne, digging a hole for their ‘under-king.’ So, more will come, and our top priority is to stand firm," the military man emphasized.
