Two officers of Russia’s Interior Ministry who had taken part in the war against Ukraine and were involved in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed in Moscow on the night of December 24.
Sources in Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (DIU) told RBC-Ukraine.
The incident occurred not far from the location where a car carrying a Russian general was blown up earlier this week.
According to the sources, at around 1 a.m. a local resident, acting out of opposition to the Kremlin’s aggressive policies, killed two members of the Russian security services.
The man reportedly approached a police vehicle parked near a police station and threw an explosive device through the window, triggering an explosion.
According to military intelligence sources, two Russian police officers were killed at the scene, while two others were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The killed officers had previously taken part in combat operations against Ukraine as part of Russia’s occupying forces.
There is also evidence of their involvement in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war, which Russian forces carry out systematically, a DIU source said.
