Discontent has begun to grow in Russia due to economic hardship and new sanctions. In some regions, spontaneous protests have even been reported, which the authorities quickly suppress.
For example, workers at a nuclear facility rioted over unpaid wages. As former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko told Channel 24 , such problems will certainly spread. Even Russia’s deceitful 2026 budget suggests that defense spending will be cut. One can only imagine how dire the situation is if even such a high-priority sector is being cut. The fact that there’s not enough money for all other areas is no longer news.
Even Gazprom, which always contributes to the Russian budget, will now receive additional payments just to stay afloat. The state already subsidizes the oil industry.
"And if a collapse starts here too, it will be the end, because oil accounts for 30-35% of Russia’s budget. The economy is starting to slow down. It’s not a complete standstill, but a clear decline,
" Vladimir Ohryzko emphasized.
As a result, millions of people could find themselves in a situation where they can’t provide for themselves. Then, two options arise. One is spontaneous riots, which are already happening in Russia.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin will tighten the screws even further. For example, security forces are detaining people who simply go out into the streets and sing songs. This situation will only worsen, and public pressure will mount.
"At some point, the lid will blow. Therefore, the process of this structure’s collapse is already approaching. The only question is what will be the key element that sets the fuse on fire," said the former Ukrainian Foreign Minister.
Russian cities are already beginning to shut down mobile phone service. This is being done under the pretext of expanding the so-called "security zone" and "protecting facilities associated with the special operation." Previously, internet shutdowns were performed during air strikes, but now the restrictions are permanent. In some regions of Russia, they have begun implementing permanent shutdowns of mobile internet, allegedly under the pretext of "protecting facilities associated with a special operation."
Ulyanovsk was the first city to introduce such restrictions permanently. Russian media reported on the matter. Previously, the country’s internet was only shut down during air raids or immediate threats, but now restrictions apply regardless of specific attacks.
The reason cited is the decision by local authorities to expand so-called "security zones" around military and strategic facilities.
