Ukraine pushes expanding drone production amid ongoing Russian attacks| Ukraine Brief

The Munich Security Conference began today. Ahead of the summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the first German-Ukrainian co-produced drone facility with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, highlighting plans to supply Ukrainian soldiers with 10,000 drones this year and to open additional facilities like this across Europe.

Senior European officials at the Conference called for greater European leadership within NATO while reaffirming continued U.S. support. Ukraine and Russia confirmed another round of peace talks, scheduled for February 17–18 in Geneva. Meanwhile, Russian strikes continue, killing at least seven people across multiple regions.

Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych lost his appeal to compete at the Winter Olympics after the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that the International Olympic Committee’s ban on his “helmet of remembrance” was fair and proportionate.
