More than four years after Russia’s full-scale invasion, the war in Ukraine continues, but global attention is fading and new conflicts emerging. War fatigue is becoming one of the Kremlin’s most effective weapons.
In this premiere episode of Close-Up, TVP World’s journalist Aleksandra Żaczek, speaks with Sławomir Sierakowski, social scientist, researcher and activist, about Russian propaganda, the growing fatigue with the war in Ukraine, and why support for Ukraine remains crucial for Europe’s security.
The episode features the report “A Common Cause,” following humanitarian aid delivered from Poland to Ukrainian communities living just kilometers from the front line. Among those involved is Prof. Fryderyk Zoll, who organizes aid convoys bringing fire engines and medical equipment to towns under constant drone and missile attacks.
The story, reported and authored by Bożydar Pająk, also gives voice to families and elderly residents who continue to live with the war every day, in villages where homes have been destroyed, loved ones have been buried, and mothers mourn sons killed at the front. It reveals the human cost of a war that, for many Ukrainians, is part of daily life.
