RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Raleigh Wednesday evening for parts of three central North Carolina counties.
At 5:43 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was seen near Cary moving south at 30 miles per hour. That prompted the NWS office to an alert for southwestern Wake, southwestern Johnston and northeastern Harnett counties.
Towns and cities impacted include Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Benson, Angier, and others. According to forecasters, possible hazards include 60-mile-per-hour wind gusts.
