The Russian army is rapidly deteriorating in terms of technical support: Putin’s soldiers are critically short of transport. Russian army command forces troops to buy scooters for assaults near Oleshky in Kherson region due to lack of armored vehicles. This was reported by the partisan movement Atesh.
According to agents of the movement within the Russian Armed Forces’ 24th Motorized Rifle Regiment, the 28th MRR is being rotated out of the Oleshky area due to heavy personnel losses, while preparations for new assaults are underway.
It is reported that Russian command is forcing soldiers to pool their own money to buy scooters for assault operations.
“Armored vehicles have long been in short supply, so the choice is simple — either on a scooter or on foot. The soldiers are demoralized by this attitude and planning. ‘Meat grinder assaults’ will continue here, but now on scooters — for those who manage to find them,” the message reads. Various punitive measures are taken against soldiers who disagree with this. This situation creates conflict between soldiers and commanders in the Russian army. Ukrainians kill Russian scooter troops—or motorcycle troops or soldiers riding in Lada compact cars or antique GAZ-69 trucks—and defeat repeated probes until the drones run out or their operators collapse from overwork. Military analysts and soldiers on the frontlines report that despite Russia suffering staggering losses, with over 1,500 casualties daily in recent weeks, the scale of attacks continues to escalate. Recall, The Russian military is planning to increase the use of small squads on motorcycles and quadbikes on the frontlines in Ukraine as it plans fresh offensives, according to the Ukrainian military and analysts of the conflict. The Ukrainian military calls the motorbike assaults ‘banzai attacks.’ One Ukrainian commander, Andriy Otchenash, said earlier this month that the motorcycles are designed for a quick blitzkrieg. “They can advance very quickly, get behind the lines,” he said, but losses on the Russian side were very high.
“It indicates that the enemy does not have a large amount of military offensive equipment, but on the other hand, it is an adaptation to the conditions of war,” said the Ukrainian Center for Strategic Communication.
