Iran’s Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, who is in exile in the United States, claims that some members of the ayatollah regime are preparing to flee the country. He stated this in an interview with CBS News. He says he receives inside information from Iran, including details of secret meetings within Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s inner circle.
Reza Pahlavi says Iranian authorities are preparing planes to flee if the political situation in the country worsens. He’s referring to Iran’s top leadership. As a reminder, in December 2025, popular unrest against the ayatollah regime began in Iran due to the sharp decline in the national currency, which affected local businesses. Protests have now spread to virtually all Iranian cities. In some cities, protesters have seized power. Several hundred people have already been killed as a result of the protests in Iran, and Iranian security forces have detained over 10,000 people. The international community is not yet intervening in the situation in Iran, merely commenting on it. However, US President Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of the American military launching air strikes against the Iranian government, as the ayatollah regime has crossed a "red line." As for Reza Pahlavi, he has been living in exile in the United States since the Iranians overthrew his father in 1979. He is now 65 years old. It is unknown whether he has any real support in Iran. Reza Pahlavi has repeatedly called on Iranians to overthrow the ayatollah regime.
Iran is also threatening to strike US military bases following President Donald Trump’s announcement of a popular uprising.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, a former commander of the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, issued a sharp warning to Washington. “In the event of an attack on Iran, the occupied territories, as well as all American bases and ships, will be our legitimate target ,” he said. Qalibaf warned against a "miscalculation" that he said could lead to a full-scale military conflict. Israel is on high alert for possible US intervention and Iranian retaliation, according to three Israeli sources involved in the security consultations. An Israeli military spokesman said the protests were an internal matter for Iran, but the army was closely monitoring the situation and was prepared to take defensive and retaliatory action "with force if necessary."
