Russian invaders are increasingly amassing resources in the southern outskirts of Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region. This warning was issued by Volodymyr Polevyi, Chief of Communications for the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Troops. According to Vladimir Polevoy, the Russian invaders have an advantage within the residential areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. This primarily concerns shelters. It is important to understand that the operation of regular tactical FPV is hampered by buildings.

“The high-rises of Mirnohrad and Pokrovsk are like mountains, like a forest, standing in front of Russian logistics and covering their radio horizon”, explains Vladimir Polevoy. According to Polevoy, in densely populated areas, the cable simply lies on the ground, bends, or breaks on the sharp corners of buildings jutting out like teeth. Despite all these difficulties, the south of Myrnohrad should not be considered a complete "blind spot".

Ukrainian expert Mykola Malomuzh says that Russian army has been tasked with capturing Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region within the next week. Currently, at least 100,000 Russian occupiers are concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector. "Russia intends to seize certain heights in Myrnohrad, where heavy fighting is currently underway. The enemy is also attempting to take new advantageous positions in the northern part of the city, where we are holding positions and cutting off logistics. Sustained, massive attacks are underway there, and new reinforcements are arriving. The Russians are attempting to seize not only certain commanding heights but also to flank our firing positions. They then plan to develop more systematic drone strikes inland and, accordingly, to occupy our firing positions. In other words, hard work is underway across all sectors of the defense of the part of Myrnohrad we control," he noted. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are deploying additional resources, including drones, to disrupt enemy logistics and the advance of reserves toward Myrnohrad.

"Additional troops are now actively deployed to strike not only at logistics but also from the flanks of those units attempting to enter Myrnohrad or attack individual points. Both frontline and flanking operations are underway. The enemy has a numerical advantage. Therefore, it is now crucial not only to hold the front but also to destroy the logistics routes they are using for reinforcements. In heavy fighting, it is crucial for the Russians to be able to conduct offensive operations, which we are preventing them from doing. Consequently, a very large number of invaders are dying," the expert said. Russian troops are attempting to capture the town of Rodinskoye, adjacent to Pokrovsk, with the aim of reaching the rear of the Ukrainian group.

"The decisive battles are currently underway in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad sector. I emphasize once again that the Russian leadership, primarily dictator Putin, has set the goal of capturing both Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk by mid-February. Therefore, in the coming days, all enemy forces will be focused on further assaults, employing various operational strategies. They will deploy infantry units, conduct drone strikes and aerial bombings, and attempt to infiltrate individual points with the help of special forces groups. We’ve already mastered this; we’re holding a tenuous defense. The enemy is failing in systematic offensive operations along the front. The Myrnohrad sector was an exception, where the enemy did manage to advance," Malomuzh concluded.

In this case Ukrainian Defense Forces have no mission to abandon Pokrovsk and continue to hold positions in the northern part of the city. Meanwhile, the situation in Myrnohrad remains more complex, and a controlled withdrawal of Ukrainian troops is possible there.

According to RBC-Ukraine , citing a source in the Defense Forces, Russian troops are currently using Pokrovsk as a "manpower storage area" and are amassing additional reserves there.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ task is to maintain a positional defense; no one is planning to withdraw from there right now," the source told the publication. According to him, Ukrainian troops also remain in Myrnohrad, but the situation there is “significantly more complicated,” so a controlled withdrawal “may take place.”

The source noted that the intensity of military action in the Pokrovsky direction remains high, including during the so-called "truce" of May 9-11.

At the same time, according to the source, Russian aviation remains one of the main problems for Ukrainian units in the Pokrovsk area.

Logistics also remains challenging, particularly the evacuation of the wounded. According to the source, Ukrainian troops are using ground-based robotic systems and "devising complex schemes" for evacuating personnel.
