Forced to leave: Refugees, resilience and life beyond the border | Close-Up with Aleksandra Żaczek

In the new episode of Close-Up, TVP World journalist Aleksandra Żaczek takes a closer look at the human stories behind migration and the realities faced by refugees on the Polish-Belarusian border.

The episode features the report “Women on the Road” by Bożydar Pająk, which follows Khedi Alieva, a refugee from Chechnya, and sheds light on the lives of a group of Chechen women forced to flee their homeland. Now living in Warsaw, they run a restaurant where, beyond serving food, they share their culture, identity, and personal stories of displacement and resilience.

The episode also includes a conversation with Aleksandra Chrzanowska, a Grupa Granica activist from the Association for Legal Intervention, who discusses the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border and the humanitarian concerns surrounding the treatment of refugees, as well as broader ethical questions facing Europe today.
