The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, IRGC, said on Saturday it launched fresh missile and drone strikes at US bases in the Middle East in response to joint US-Israeli attacks as the war enters the 15th day. In the early hours of March 14, the Naval Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, simultaneously struck US bases in the region with heavy missile and drone fire in three waves of assault, IRGC’s press service said. During the operation, Iranian missile and drone forces targeted key facilities at Al-Dhafra Air Base in the UAE. Precision ballistic missiles and attack drones reportedly struck Patriot radar systems, the control tower, and air defense shelters at the installation. Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain was also attacked with a combination of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. The strikes reportedly destroyed early-warning radar systems, aircraft hangars, and the central ramp area, while fuel storage tanks used by American aircraft caught fire and burned. In addition, Al-Adairi Helicopter Base in Kuwait was heavily targeted by missile and drone strikes. The attacks there reportedly destroyed equipment shelters, assembly areas used by personnel, and helicopter maintenance hangars. The IRGC stated that the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the worlds key oil transport routes, remains under the complete and intelligent control of the IRGC Navy, stressing that oil tankers and commercial vessels belonging to the US and its allies through the Strait of Hormuz continues to be prohibited. Any movement or transit will be targeted. The United and Israel launched an Epic Fury military operation against Iran on February 28, targeting Iranian military, nuclear facilities, as well as senior officials. Iran responded with unprecedented retaliatory attacks, striking US military bases, other strategic facilities in the Middle Eastern countries that are allies with Washington, including in Bahrain, the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Iran also closed the Strait of Hormuz – the narrow passage between Iran and Oman that serves as one of the most important energy transit routes in the world. The closure of the strategic strait has caused significant disruptions in global oil and gas prices and led to sharp decline in maritime transit.
