Ukraine pounds Russian army’s maritime drone operators’ base, training ground

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, known as SOF, have published footage showing a series of recent strikes on key Russian military targets across occupied territories of the country over the past few days. Among the targets were a base for unmanned maritime drone operators in Sevastopol in Russian-annexed Crimea, the Vostochny training ground in the occupied southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, and several additional Russian sites. According to the SOF, these operations were carried out over the past few days by their Middle Strike units, working in coordination with resistance groups inside occupied areas. In and around the village of Velyka Novosilka in eastern Donetsk region, four targets were hit at the same time, including a logistics hub, a command post, and another supply center. Ukrainian forces say the strikes significantly disrupted Russian military activity in the area. In Sevastopol in Crimea, the SOF drones targeted a facility used by operators of unmanned surface vessels, USVs, successfully hitting multiple objectives. Meanwhile, near Novopetrivka in Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian forces struck the Russian Vostochny training ground, where personnel, equipment, and supplies were concentrated. Earlier, it was reported today that the Ukrainian forces also hit a Russian Valday radar system and a Forpost ground-based drone control station in occupied Crimea, along with other targets in the Donetsk region. It’s worth noting that Ukraine has scaled up strikes on Russia’s energy, military facilities with the aim to undermine Russia’s war efforts. The Ukrainian troops have also been graining ground in counteroffensive operation launched in south of the country in late February. The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the country’s troops regained control over 470 square kilometers of territory and managed to liberate almost the entire territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region, and neutralized more than 11 thousand Russian troops during the counterattacks in the past few weeks
